Here’s Real Life&Death Lesson #26,043 that I’ve taught football players, college law enforcement students, women’s lifting teams for 45 years – Back out or workout. These are your 2 choices every day that determine whether you win big or get killed on GameDay, Hiring Day, Field Day, Business Day.
How you feed your hunger – at the Olympic bar or the Patio bar – determines whether you score Personal Bests or sink to Personal Worsts. I’ve taught teams for 45 years:
- The more your excuses are rewarded, the closer you get to a level of incompetence that will haunt you for life.
- If working out is not essential to you, you’ve been brainwashed to believe a lie.
- If you think you will get a scholarship or turn pro in sports or jobs that can kill, maim, and maul, without working out and achieving your Personal Best in mind-body-soul, you are living in a State of Delusion built by coddling make-believers who want you to believe that real life&death is easy, that you are exempt from working your ass for it.
I saw wide-spread contempt for working out as a cop, coach, college professor/coordinator during the past 45 years. 98.6% want it without working out for it. It doesn’t work that way – dual meaning. It’s 2021. Nothing has changed today. Working out is still considered non-essential. They consider it non-essential until it becomes essential to get in shape. Then they try to get advice and coaching for free. Good news – 1.4% who I have coached and taught for 45 years considered working out essential.
I’ve taught those who have asked for 45 years – you’ve heard it before – dual meaning. You hear your excuses in your head all the time and you hear justification for your excuses. If you don’t want to hear it any more, find a coach who won’t hear it any more from you. And if you don’t want to hear it any more, exercise free will and listen to something else that you asked for. I answer those who asked. Not those who didn’t ask.
