My poor illiterate #Italian immigrant parents never stopped scolding me when I was growing up in the 1960s. #NoDaysOff. They were relentless. They never let up. They never took a break. The reason why they were chronic scolders is that I was a child, they were the adults. They knew better because of the adult-child knowledge imbalance They believed that scolding was the best communication method to get the point across to children.
Social media has now given a forum to all the #scolders, the intolerable micromanagers who think they are the parent talking to children, telling people how to run their lives and what to do with their time. Most of the chronic scolders come from the Fitness Industry who seem to think they have a monopoly on self-righteousness. I can’t imagine having to live with them and listen to their chronic #scolding 365-24-7.
