Excessive criticism and pessimism will rob you of your natural spirit. That’s what toxic people do. They try to knock you down so you can join them in their misery. Bad news and depressing news are the only language of toxic people. Toxic people will poison your soul. Here’s the good news – working out is the soul-detox.
Working out is a time for healing. It is a time of growth in body, mind, and soul through enlightenment physically, mentally, and spiritually. Working out brightens darkness through the power of an energy exchange that you experience through the electricity of physical exertion in a gym environment that is conducive with the growth of every person, not just a chosen few.
The best way to silence the critics is full immersion in workouts that challenges who you currently are. One of the beauties of working out is the volume-control, where you control what you hear and from what source. You can shut out the toxic voices that can drag you into a hell-hole of worry, anxiety, frustration, and bitterness, all the elements of a life wasted in the worst hell of all – unresolved conflict.
There’s a big difference between a critic and a mentor. A critic has no clue what they’re talking about and their main interest is self-interest. A mentor’s main interest is you – your growth, your development, your potential, and your self-actualization. Listen to a mentor and you will grow. Listen to critics and you will grow old. You will age prematurely by letting stress and anxiety eat you alive – body, mind, and soul.
Working out is a detoxification of mind, body, and soul. Working out is a cleanse that purges all the accumulated bullshit that clogs your system until nothing is working out the way it’s supposed to. September is the last month of the 3rd quarter, a time for renewal body, mind, and soul. September Lifting will change your life. September Lifting is the most important workout time of the year because of the transition from one season to the next that can build us up or knock us down. The end of the 3rd quarter is nearing. Waiting for January 1 to resolve change is a mistake. September renewal is the game-changer, the life-altering experience that can change the direction you’re heading in.
No one is born to stay weak. And no one is born to weaken others. We’re all called to build strength in ourselves and in others. We all have the same calling – to be souls of lifters because we’ve been the beneficiary long enough of those who have lifted us. We all have a responsibility to give back, to strengthen others.
I have been giving thanks to God Almighty even more than usual since midnight September 1. I always thank God Almighty at the end of every workout, every day, for letting me do all this because I can’t imagine the hell of the alternative. But midnight September 1 was different. It raised my level of consciousness. Take nothing for granted. Nothing at all. Lift as heavy as you can for as long as you can. My objective this week is to reach higher, to go farther in my workouts than I ever have in 45 years of working out because I want to spill every ounce of bullshit that’s accumulated. All of it. Never give in to the voices, inner or outer, that try to knock you down and keep you down. Be a #soulofalifter. May you find peace in working out forever. The workout song for the first week of September is a classic. Epic workout music, a reminder to “Rise Up” when it’s in ruins. The link is after my signature.
