Pretty uniforms won’t matter. Neither do plush stadiums or state-of-the-art turf. All that matters is what’s under the pretty uniforms – muscle or mush. Guts or a gut. All that matters is who hits the state-of-the-art turf and who doesn’t.
The Niagara X-men are Canada’s only non-profit collegiate club team sponsored by a gym with one purpose – play the best to get discovered. The Niagara X-men mission statement is simple – give the unrecruited a second-chance to get recruited. We guarantee that our lifting program and on-field practices will bring out your very best. It’ part of the Niagara X-men Promise. But don’t expect royal treatment. Don’t expect the red-carpet rolled out. The Niagara X-men have an open-admission – we don’t recruit just the very best. We recruit no one. You recruit us. You make the cut or you cut yourself. No one is guaranteed a starting spot or playing time or a spot on the roster. But you’re guaranteed the opportunity and you’re guaranteed results if you take the opportunity.
Playing against American colleges is a high-level of competition for unrecruited Canadian high school grads. Don’t expect this to be intra-mural flag football. This isn’t touch football. It’s full contact at the highest level possible for Canadian unrecruited players. If you’re not prepared physically or mentally, you will not play for your own safety. That’s a guarantee as well.
We believe in the power of the underdog but the underdog has to train harder than the favourite/favorite or the underdog stays the underdog forever. Nothing just happens. You beat the hell out of the odds or let the odds beat the hell of you.
