Every workout lines you up against two opponents that test what you’re truly made of. The first opponent is Iron Weight – a cold, unemotional, unfeeling, relentless, ruthless opponent that does not give a shit about what you’re feeling, how bad your day was, whether you’re in the mood, how tired you are, how sorry you feel for yourself, and what you think of them. Iron’s sole purpose is challenge you. Iron will not let up. Iron will not lift itself up. Iron will not make you feel better by cooperating. Iron doesn’t hand out congeniality awards or consolation prizes. If iron crushes you, it won’t feel bad.
It won’t apologize for busting you up. The exact same applies to your second opponent – your mind.

Every workout is a two-against-one Street-fight. Both opponents are not like PMS Post-Modern Society that coddles you and wants to soften you and turn you to a pile of defenseless mush.

The only way to beat both opponents is to grow some and show some. Both opponents want to break you. Just like real-life.
