It’s impossible to perform at a higher level than your training.
It’s myth that you can raise your game-day performance without training for it. It’s impossible. This rule applies in football, business, and any real-life job. The level of your training creates a ceiling. It sets a limit. You can’t pass it on game-day or run through it on game-day. Limits are broken during training. You will fight exactly like you train so train how you want to fight. You will not fight harder than you train for. You will not play better than you train for. Heart and soul and balls are formed during training. Game-day is an expression of your training. Game-day reveals your training. Game-day will never exceed your training.

It’s delusional to believe that you will be a top-level fighter without training for it. It’s delusional to believe that you will run, pass, catch, tackle, and block at the highest level with the lowest level of training. It’s delusional to believe that you will win championship rings with last-place training. The height of delusion is believing you will get maximum return with minimum training-investment.

The key is raising the ceiling higher than your opponents during off-season strength and conditioning. You don’t need an advanced strength and conditioning program to win a championship ring. The true secret is basic lifts, basic running. Never ignore simplicity. Basic lifts and basic running will separate you from the rest. Dual meaning. It will separate you from the rest of the standings. It will separate you from the comfort of a sedentary life that leads to soft body and soft mind.

If you can’t find the drive to work out in the off-season, your opponent will drive you into the ground. If you can’t find the motivation to get in top shape in the off-season, your opponent will crush you. If you can’t find the desire to bust your ass in the off-season, your opponent will beat your ass during the season. Top fitness is not an option. It’s non-negotiable if you want to get fitted for a championship ring.
